About

Welcome to the blog of Matthew D. Ryan, writer and philosopher. That’s Matthew D. Ryan—both the capital “D” and the period “.” are important in computer searches. Here you will find information on the writer, his current projects, and whatever else catches his fancy as time goes on. Mr. Ryan is currently working on his novel, The Children of Lubrochius. It is Book I of his exciting series, From the Ashes of Ruin. The prequel to the series, and an excellent stand-alone novel in its own right, Drasmyr,is currently available as a free ebook at Smashwords, Barnes and Noble, Amazon, and elsewhere on the Internet. For those interested in a print version, it is available in hardcover format at Lulu for $24.99. It is a vampire novel set in a fantasy world of wizards and warriors and has earned positive reviews (usually around 4 stars out of 5) across the Internet.

Matthew lives in northeastern New York on the shores of Lake Champlain, one of the largest lakes in the continental United States, famous for the Battle of Plattsburgh and the ever-elusive Lake Champlain Monster, a beastie more commonly referred to as Champy. Matthew has studied philosophy, mathematics, and computer science in the academic world. He has earned a black belt in martial arts.

Looks good !! You look so serious- I guess befitting one who knows about philosophy — the black background is apt, considering your fictional world.
By the way, don’t kill your computer — their ghosts are very nasty, I know this –

Hey, sorry that link on my page doesn’t work. It’s a project for school and they have us using the schools server. The stupid thing is that only people on the server can see it. -_- It;s a really dumb thing, but its something I gotta deal with it. Sorry again.

Hey there! I’ve nominated you for a Liebster Award … check it out on my blog at http://musingsofasteampunk.com/2012/09/01/liebster-award-nomination/. Yay!

Thank you for your consideration, but I must turn down the nomination. I’m a writer, not a blogger: the blog is secondary, and I hate chain letters. It might not take that much time, but I have absolutely no clue who I could nominate in turn (I usually don’t check the followers of the blogs I read). So, it seems a little unfair to accept accollades and not pass on further nominations. Again, I am very flattered and glad you like my blog enough to nominate me, but I must decline. Sorry.
